About Manchester
Manchester is a great industrial and commercial city in the north west of England which is known as a center for music and the arts, the home to two renowned and iconic football teams and a bustling energetic urban metropolis which yet is not too far away from the countryside and the mountains.

There is a Central Art Gallery and in Salford a permanent exhibition devoted to renowned local artist LS.Lowry. Musically Manchester is the home of the Halle Orchestra and at the other end of the musical spectrum has spawned rock bands such as the Happy Mondays (product of the Madchester episode in rock music) and Oasis.
There is no shortage of items of interest to explore in a city which boasts of being the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution, the computer, the Football League and the UK’s foremost pop music program “Top of the Pops”. You can also visit the site of a massively popular TV program “Coronation Street” which in itself has marked the social changes that have taken place in this ever changing metropolis.
