For a relatively small club, not even the leading club in its own home town, a club that has spent most of its one hundred plus year of existence in the lower league of Spain, trying to find its way up, a respected list of former players has worn the red and blue uniform of Levante UD.

The club spent most of its years in Spainās lower divisions, getting promoted for the first time to La Ligaās Primera Division in 1963-64. It lasted another season there, before being relegated. Next promotion occurred only in 2004-05, then another relegation. From 2010-11 (excluding one season), Levante is a permanent member of the First Division.
